Visiting Greater Vision Baptist Church
Greater Vision Baptist Church is an Independent Baptist church located in Owensboro, Kentucky in the heart of Daviess County. Our church is situated just south of the Wendell H. Ford by-pass on Sutherland Road.
At Greater Vision you will find traditional, conservative, yet exciting services that are Bible-centered, family-focused and God-honoring. We have programs designed to help each member of the family grow in their personal relationship with the Lord. For those with small children you will be happy to know that our nursery is staffed with ladies who genuinely care about the well being of your child. Our Junior department is first rate, complete with Sunday school classes, Junior church and an exciting Wednesday night activity and training program called Contender/Keepers of the Faith Club.
We also have a thriving and growing youth department. GVBC teenagers enjoy a variety of activities like Youth Conferences, Teen Camp, youth outings, special meetings, and soul-winning opportunities to share their faith with others in the community.
With so many churches to choose from we want you to know that GVBC is committed to preaching the never changing truths of God’s Word. The head of our church is the Lord Jesus Christ. The KJV Bible is our sole authority for faith and practice. It’s our desire to be an on-fire, soul winning, New Testament church in the city of Owensboro. How do I Get to Greater Vision Baptist Church?
Where do I park?
The parking place is located at the front of the church building. Ample and convenient parking is available for all visitors. We also have parking spots designated for the elderly and handicapped.
Where do I Take my Children?
Starting with an excellent nursery, there is something special for every age child. At every service we provide a safe, clean, and highly staffed nursery for children three years old and under. For the protection of your children, a security system is used. For children four years old through sixth grade there are fun, friendly, and Bible-centered classes. These classes are staffed with trained, friendly, and well-qualified teachers and helpers who will make church exciting and memorable for your child.
It’s not as complicated as it looks, and we would like to help you find the appropriate nursery, classes, and services for every person in your family. Our greeters and ushers are located around campus as well as in the lobby of the main worship center and will gladly help direct and even escort you to the right place.
Where Do I Take my Teens?
Our student ministries are broken down into two main divisions: junior high and high school. Within each of these divisions, there are several classes, which are listed under the “Teens” menu above. Most of the teens attend a class for one hour and then a worship service another hour with their parents.
Who is the Pastor?
Pastor Tim Russ and his wife Marty came to Owensboro in June of 2005. Pastor Russ is a man with great vision for Owensboro and the surrounding areas. He is a man filled with biblical wisdom and enthusiasm for the Lord. He is a true people person in every sense of the word. His excitement and passion for the Word of God is evident in his preaching. His heart for Christ and his love and dedication to his family and the people of Greater Vision Baptist Church is evidenced in his commitment to reaching lost souls for Christ. Pastor Russ and Marty have been married now for 24 years and they have been blessed with two sons, Andrew and Jared.
